NEWS and RADIO
As a finalist years ago in the Miss USA pageant, I spoke about how much I wanted to be an actress, and sing. But I also told the world that I loved being informed , loved News and information, and thought it was very important to help keep others informed. After years of television, I worked in radio. I saw how the news was becoming slanted and that too few people owned too much media. The antitrust laws had all but disappeared in my opinion. I felt this was dangerous. I created a show called Straight Talk LIVE so that I could explore and broadcast both sides of stories that were controversial. I thought that the audience at home could be informed and make up their own minds about what they thought about things, once they heard all of the information. We sure need more of that type of news now with all the stations seemingly trying to tell us all what and how they want us to think.
I do love the immediacy of news in radio and of course in live TV, too. With the internet now, all news can be immediate. But is it true honest news ? Thatโs a bogey. Americans deserve to be completely informed and they should not be forced to rely on slanted, opinionated or confusing information. Personally I dig, call and investigate as much as possible before I speak out. I want to know the truth. Itโs hard to find.
I would love to have the opportunity to serve this region of the country now and be useful to the people here.
I will do my best to perform all responsibilities in my new working life, whatever it turns out to be, to the best of my ability.
